Sunday Night Message 8/30/20
Good evening Patriots! This is Mrs. Richards with your Sunday night message for the week of August 30th.
The first week of school was an eventful one to put it mildly! I feel we have begun to successfully navigate getting back into the routine of learning despite any technology issues. Our IT department was working on the wifi at the end of last week, we are hopeful live lessons will run smoother. Thank you for being patient with us.
I do have some information to share with you:
The two are changes to our staff:
Next, I want to make you aware that we are taking extra security precautions with our live Zoom lessons.
Lastly, in the Spring, the time for learning was different, students were instructed from 8-12 and teachers had office hours in the afternoon. This is not the case now. We are running on a full instructional day, 8-3. Students will have access to their teacher during their specific class block of time. Once instruction has ended, office hours begin for that block.
We hope everyone rested this weekend and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Have a great night!
Just wanted to give you a little glimpse into my background in education.
In 1999, I began teaching at Graham Elementary in Shelby, NC working in 2nd and 3rd grade. In 2006, I made a change and began working with middle school students. Over the 8 years, I taught 7th grade English/Language Arts and all subject areas of 8th grade at Shelby Middle School (Shelby, NC), Chavis Middle School (Gastonia, NC), and PCCS!
I was fortunate in 2013 to become the Assistant Director on the Elementary Campus of PCCS and in February of 2020 I was named Middle School Director. I look forward to a wonderful, exciting year of learning and growth.
Please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you for choosing PCCS for your children! I look forward to meeting/seeing them when they return this school year!
Mrs. Richards is married to Matt Richards. Between both of us, we have 5 children.
